Hello! I’m Patrick, a person-centered counsellor and counselling supervisor based in South Manchester and working online. If you've been looking for a space to make sense of life’s most difficult transitions, I am here to help.
I am a BACP-registered counsellor with a specialism in bereavement, grief, and loss. My approach is shaped by many years of experience within NHS-adjacent palliative care settings, and the charity sector. These environments have taught me that grief isn't just about death; it’s about the many losses we face in life—loss of identity, health, or a sense of future. I provide a calm, non-judgmental environment where we can explore these complexities at your own pace.
WELCOME
WHAT IS COUNSELLING?
At its simplest, counselling is a dedicated time and space for you to talk about your life, your feelings, and the challenges you are facing. Unlike talking to a friend or family member, a counsellor is a trained professional who listens without bias, without an agenda, and without telling you what to do.
HOW I WORK
I practice Person-Centered Counselling, which means I don't show up as an "expert" with all the answers. Instead, I believe that you are the expert on your own life and your own grief. In the wake of loss, it can feel like your autonomy has been taken away; my goal is to give that back to you.
In our sessions, you can expect:
-
A Non-Directive Space: You set the pace. We talk about what matters to you, when you are ready to talk about it.
-
Acceptance: Grief can be messy, angry, or confusing. I provide a space where you are accepted exactly as you are, without judgment.
-
Empathy and Genuineness: I bring my authentic self to our sessions, offering a warm and grounded relationship where you can feel truly heard.
Whether you are navigating the death of a loved one, a change in your health, or the "anticipatory grief" that comes with terminal illness, we will work together to find your footing and honor your experience.
A person-centered approach
